Faces are Fascinating
We specialize in studio portrait photography that captures your unique personality through a variety of backdrops and lighting techniques.
A photoshoot session should be fun. So, don't worry. Whatever your reason for getting professional pictures taken, (an engagement, family portrait, advertisement or product photos, senior pictures)
we will be sure to make it a relaxed and fun experience!
Working in our studio, we will photograph a collection of head shots in front of light and/or dark backgrounds for you to use for professional profiles, bios, audition packets, or employment websites. Let us capture your professional best!
Weddings (except for studio bridal portraits)
Babies (unless they are part of a family shoot)
Location Shoots (unless in Oberlin and by available light only)
There are many other talented photographers in this area who do these photos beautifully.
I am happy to refer you to another source for these services or you can check out www.suiteonestudios.com for affiliate photographers.
I work out of Suite One Studios by appointment only.
I developed (pun intended) a great passion for photography way back in high school in the old film days. I worked for the local paper, the Oberlin News Tribune covering high school sports and local events, doing photos for advertisers and art photos for the editorial page. I had a darkroom in my home and learned to roll my own film and develop and print from negatives. Ahh, the smell of the chemicals!
Through the years, family, kids and a career took precedence but photography remained a love and an expensive hobby. I did weddings, events, location shoots, and studio work out of my home for friends and neighbors. I pursued other hobbies as well: quilting, table tennis and I even wrote and published a book on napkin folding (Simply Elegant Napkin Folding).
However, since retiring from the corporate world, I have moved back to my favorite place of Oberlin, Ohio. I found an excellent location downtown to rent for all of my studio equipment. I plan on spending the next five years of my life at Suite One Studios, experimenting with lighting, doing photo shoots, and assisting other photographers who want to use the space and equipment. I hope to meet many many Oberlin people (or its visitors) and photograph their fascinating faces. I'd be honored to photograph yours.
